Wicca and Salt: Salt is used as a purifying agent, and is used this way in many religions and cultures.  It is the color white (ish), the color of purity. Salt is also: A protection against psychic Salt used with sand may be used to create magickal circles Purify objects people or areas Absorb negative energy (Most often bowls of salt are placed in an area to absorb negativity) Salt can also be placed on the altar to purify the area

Color correspondence of the day: White Represents the pure spirit.  Is great for purifying an cleansing, you can burn a white candle during a purification spell. Also good if you are seeking the truth in something. Because of this colors purity it is great for protection as well. Great for warding away negativity.  Burn a white candle to banish negative energy from a room. Also good for use in exorcisms, clairvoyance, and divination. The color white can be a substitute for any other color in a spell ritual or almost any other time where a color is needed.  For those of you who do not have access to many colored candles (most likely younger teens in the broom closet) a small white tea light is a great substitute!
